Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

‘Walking the time line"
In traditional NLP there is a technique we call ‘walking the time line’ which involves you imagining a line on the floor with your past at one end and your future at the other. Using that line you are able to Walking up and down achieve amazing results including regaining information from the past to enable you to use it within the now and the future and also to look into the future to help you clearly set goals.
Time Line Therapy®
This technique is not to be confused with Time Line Therapy® however as that is a trademarked technique devised by Tad James as a fast, powerful and highly effective tool specifically to remove negative emotions and limiting decisions. It uses a very definite script and the individual remains seated but imagines floating above the time line.
Both techniques are used by our New mission practitioner to enable their clients to achieve great results
Hypnosis within NLP?
Hypnosis seems to be a subject that causes fear in a lot of people as they think that if they look into someone’s eyes they can be hypnotised, will have no recollection of what happened and be made to do silly things. This is all a complete myth. All hypnosis is self hypnosis and no-one can hypnotise anyone else. In fact the use of the term ‘hypnotherapist’ is a bit of a misnomer.
We all experience varying levels of trance throughout a normal day. The deepest of those is sleep but there are plenty of other levels in an awakened state. For example, have you ever been driving down the motorway and suddenly realised you are two junctions further on that you thought? Have you got to the end of a TV programme and realised you don’t really know what happened in the story? What about the ironing trance, the washing up trance, the gazing out the window trance?
The main purpose of a formal induction is to communicate with the bit of your brain that has the answers to the things you want help with. Sometimes the logical, conscious brain gets in the way and so hypnosis or trance just allows you or the practitioner to speak directly to the bit with the answers undisturbed.
If you close your eyes now you will still hear what is going on around you, be thinking about what to have for tea and whether you locked the door on your way out of the house this morning. That’s exactly the same as in any level of trance or ‘hypnosis’.
The other bit that seems to scare people is the fear that ‘I’ll be made to do things I don’t want to do’. No-one can make you do anything you don’t want to do. In a formal hypnotic induction it is your choice whether or not you follow the instructions to allow you to be more relaxed and reach a deeper level of trance or not. Whatever the level, you are in complete control of your mind and body and can make the decision to open your eyes or move around if you wish.
New mission practitioners use this technique to establish the root cause of your problem and confusion that the client may have.

Our Personal Trainer will often use NLP techniques during training sessions to help keep you motivated and focused on reaching your end goals, but NLP is mainly used in a private consultation environment.
Our NLP consultations are confidential and take place on a one-to-one basis where our practitioners will work with you in order to overcome specific problems or barriers specifically using Time line therapy and hypnotherapy.
